Paskál Medicinal Spa and Park

• Open all year round

Built in 2016, the Paskál spa stands out with its modern and functional architecture. It offers a thermal experience at an attractive price, much lower than that of the historic baths in downtown Budapest. However, for enthusiasts of history and architecture, its appearance is more streamlined and less impressive than the city center’s landmark establishments.

Located about 8 km east of the capital’s heart, it is only accessible by car or public transport. Nevertheless, its location on the outskirts offers a distinct advantage: it is far less crowded than the central tourist-heavy spas, which are often packed during peak seasons.

Paskál’s spacious layout and well-organized facilities ensure optimal comfort for visitors, and its vast outdoor park features five pools.

The wellness area includes an outdoor sauna with two terraced pools at contrasting temperatures (a hot one at 42°C and a cold one at 20°C). Be careful with abrupt transitions from cold to hot; it is better to do the reverse for a beneficial effect on the body!

Special caution is also needed in the steam room: the water from the fountain reaches over 65°C and is not protected by a safety guard.

This spa is a good representative of the modern thermal spas found throughout Hungary. With signage primarily in Hungarian and a mostly local clientele, it provides an authentic immersion for travelers seeking an experience off the beaten path.

It is an excellent option for those who want to discover Hungarian baths away from the tourist buzz.
