The Vas county, bordering Austria, has two of the most beautiful spas in the area, both 26km from the city of Szombathely. These two large spas are well-equipped; the medicinal water of the baths of Bükfürdő is famous, while the spa of Sárvár has a sauna area which is the best that the Thermalhungary team have seen so far in the country. These two great assets would be enough to make the region attractive, but there is even more: the small historic and fortified town of Kőszeg is very popular with tourists for its charm and its ruins, and the nearby mountainous region offers many opportunities for hiking.
