The Borsod Abauj Zemplén county is resplendent in natural beauty including the Bükk massif, the mountains of Tokaj and the Garaldna valley. Its capital Miskolc is home to the famous Miskolctapolca Cave Bath, part of which is carved into the rock. The region has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the famous Tokaj Wine Region (the wine of kings, the king of wines) and the Caves of Aggtelek. The cultural side is not to be outdone, with the royal castle of Diósgyőr and traditional Matyó embroidery being highlights. This region, preserved from urbanisation, is very rich in history.
