The Rudas baths are among the most impressive in Europe. You do not only visit a spa with hot springs, you travel through the centuries as if in a museum.

Documents dating back to the 13th century mention the first uses of the Rudas hot springs, and it was in the middle of the 16th century, during the occupation by the Ottoman Empire, that the Turkish bath visible today was built.

At the end of the 19th century, the Turkish area was extended with the construction of a more modern swimming pool. With a temperature of 29 °C, this is the hottest swimming pool in the country.

The Rudas is the “Extreme” spa, consisting of the two hottest pools, at 42 °C, as well as the hottest steam room in the capital.

The south extension of the complex is a very modern area, completely renovated in 2014, where you will enjoy a hot rooftop pool overlooking the Danube.

Crossing the entire building will offer you a surprising contrast across 3 eras over almost 5 centuries. For this I strongly recommend opting for the full entrance, giving you access to the whole building for only about €5 more.

Beware if you plan to visit during the week, the spa is mixed only on Saturdays and Sundays!

Instead, choose morning hours to avoid crowded periods. The mini bar restaurant at the reception is excellent! It is ideal for breakfast just before entering or exiting the spa.
